Safety while using:
This germicidal lamp – electrical device can be used by children in the age of 8 and older, as well as persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental abilities, or lack of experience and knowledge only if they are supervised or instructed to use the device in a safe way and understand the potential risks. Children are not allowed to play with the device. Cleaning and maintenance carried out by the user may not be carried out by unsupervised children. Cleaning and maintenance may only be carried out by persons who are instructed and properly trained.
Disinfection of air:
Disinfection occurs when the radiation is applied to microorganisms, which instantly die due to the disruption of their DNA cell structures. This germicidal lamp is used in all instances where it is not possible to ensure effective disinfection by conventional means, or at places where stricter requirements for cleanliness apply. Glass or transparent plastic materials are impermeable to UVC radiation. Visible blue light is not identical to UVC radiation. UVC radiation is invisible to the human eye.
Functions of the device:
Germicidal lamp PROLUX G® K55W/SP is permanently connected to the electrical system. Pressing the ON button on the remote control will turn on the device. In the first phase, the radiator sensor counts down – the green blink = the number of hours remaining until the end of the tube life. Every blinking equals to 1000 hours. After reading this time, the sensor displays the state of preparedness for exposure to ultraviolet radiation, the sensor blinks blue. At the same time, there is a backlighting – a blink of green, which means that the lifetime of the tubes is still satisfactory, meaning over 9000 hours. In case less than 9000 hours remain until the end of the tubes’ lifetime, the sensor blinks blue with a blinking and the backlight illuminates violet colour. If the lifetime is less than 1000 hours, the status is indicated by red blinking and an acoustic signal.
If there is no movement in the sensor field within one minute, the device will switch on and thus the exposure to ultraviolet radiation will begin. This condition is indicated by a pronounced sound signal. If there is movement in the sensor field, the exposure is interrupted and restarting occurs after five minutes, but only if no movement has occurred in the sensor field. The sensor continually evaluates this status and the device will only turn on once this condition is met.
The device can also be switched in the automatic mode by programming twelve switching times in each day. Programming of the device by the remote control can be found in the instruction manual that accompanies this manual. The remote control’s effective efficiency is 20m, the germicidal lamp is attached to a particular emitter with a unique address that can be attached to a new remote control if the previous one gets lost.
Operating hours of the device:
The status of the operating hours is indicated by the illumination of the sensor by the appropriate colour: green – the condition is satisfactory, maximum life; purple – the condition is satisfactory – working life of the UVC source; red – the lifetime of the UVC source has passed, service intervention required, change of UVC source needed, reset of the counter of operation hours is needed.
During periodic annual maintenance, revision, or in the need of finding out the exact number of operating hours, the intervention of a service technician is required. After unscrewing the locking screw in the top cover, it is possible to get this data with an accuracy of one hour once it has been connected to the service connector. It is also possible to produce a print version with the exact number of switchings
