Why UV-C lamps need scheduled care

A UV-C tube keeps glowing after it has lost output. The manufacturer notes that after the rated life the lamp still shines in the same purple-blue colour, but the ultraviolet intensity is lower and the treatment is less effective. For the in-duct HEP 36WPL/SPH model, the stated tube life is 18,000 hours.

What we can help with

  • Operating-hour checks. Some models, such as the K72W/SP, count down the remaining tube hours with a sensor light. Exact hours are read by a trained service technician through the service connector.
  • Tube replacement. Tubes are replaced only with the lamp disconnected from the power supply, and only by trained people.
  • Cleaning and inspection of the lamp, grille and mounting, carried out by instructed persons.
  • Spare lamps and parts for the models we supplied. Ask us about availability.

Disposal

Broken or damaged tubes contain mercury and must be disposed of as hazardous waste.
