The right UV-C lamp depends on where it will be used and whether people will be present. Start with the application, then confirm the model.
Match the lamp to the use
- Empty rooms and surfaces: surface lamps such as the 18 W/SP (compact, for vehicles including ambulances), 55 W/SP and 72 W/SP.
- Room air and surfaces: combined mobile lamps such as the G 36W and M55W.
- Air with people present: indoor air lamps such as the 30WA.
- Air conditioning units and ducts: HVAC lamps such as the 110WPL/D55 and the in-duct HEP 36WPL/SPH.
- Home or office use: a portable 55 W lamp with timer, remote control and safety shut-off.
Features worth checking
- Timer or remote control.
- Motion sensor, where fitted.
- Protection class and wiring: they differ between wall-mounted room lamps and in-duct lamps.
- Rated tube life, for example 18,000 hours for the HEP 36WPL/SPH.
- Certificates: which document applies depends on the model, so ask for the copies that cover your lamp.
