UV-C Surface Disinfection Lamps in the UAE

UV-C as a supplementary surface treatment

Germicidal UV-C lamps emit ultraviolet radiation at about 253.7 nm. Used in an empty room, they add a chemical-free step after normal cleaning, reaching surfaces and air that are in the lamp’s line of sight.

Good to know before you choose

• UV-C works on exposed surfaces only. Shadowed areas, dirt and some materials reduce the effect.
• Dose depends on lamp power, distance and exposure time.
• Use only when no people or animals are present, and keep doors closed or signed while it runs.
• Clean first. UV-C does not replace cleaning or approved disinfection procedures.

Safe use

Direct UV-C exposure can injure eyes and skin. Use timers, remote controls and door signage, and follow the manufacturer’s instructions. Germicidal lamps may contain mercury, so dispose of them properly at end of life.

Portable models suit shifting use across rooms. Fixed or wall-mounted lamps suit rooms treated on a schedule when empty.

How long should it run?

Manufacturer and certifications

The PROLUX G germicidal lamps are made by Nexa s.r.o. in Piešťany, Slovakia. The manufacturer holds Bureau Veritas management-system certificates (ISO 14001:2015, ISO 45001:2018, ISO 22301:2019 and ISO 37001:2016), an ISO 13485:2016 registration covering PROLUX G germicidal lamps, and TÜV SÜD Slovakia type certificates for PROLUX G lamp types. In the UAE, the lamps have been tested by a Ministry of Health accredited laboratory (surface swab cultures before and after treatment) and by an IAS-accredited laboratory (RoHS test reports).
